Picture Of Love: Lindsey & Joshua Wed At Grande Antigua
#MeetTheMarlows meets Sandals Grande Antigua in this sweet elopement!
What is possibly more romantic than finding the love of your life and running away to Sandals Grande Antigua to say your ‘I Do’s’? You guessed it: nothing! And so starts the fairy tale love story of this beautiful couple who became Mr. & Mrs. Marlow in paradise on the 5th anniversary of the day they met. While planning their first vacation alone and doing a ton of research, they knew Sandals offered everything they were looking for and so much more. Their beautiful pictures and romantic love story absolutely confirm that this was the best day of their lives.
How They Met
“We always say we met by fate. We met at a local bar (which neither of us frequented) in October 2011. He just happened to go out with his brothers for a night and I had met up with some old friends from high school. Somehow we both ended up there and still laugh about it to this day. He swears the night we met he said he was going to marry me. We instantly had a connection. It’s amazing when you find someone who you feel like you’ve known for years after just dating a few weeks. We’ve been inseparable since.”
How He Proposed
“The evening he proposed we went out to dinner. On the way home I fell asleep. When I woke up we were at one of our local parks. He opened the door and asked me to keep my eyes closed. I was so caught off guard I had no idea what was going on. He walked me up to the top of this big hill, holding my hand with my eyes closed, and then he asked me to stop and open my eyes. He was facing me and it was so dark out but the stars were so bright shining down on us. From behind his back he pulled out a large bouquet of a dozen roses. Now, I am spoiled and he buys me flowers quite a bit so at this point I was like awe, thank you, still with not a clue in the world.”
“Then he got down on one knee and pulled out a box from his pocket. I lost it and couldn’t even talk. I was shaking and of course I started crying, because we had briefly talked about getting married “some day”, but I had no idea he was so serious. I was in total shock. After he told me how much he loved and appreciated me and couldn’t imagine life without me, he asked the question…. “Lindsey Diane Rock, will you marry me?” Of course I was so caught off guard so I couldn’t say anything but, “Are you serious? Is this really happening right now?” Apparently I didn’t say “yes” right away and he thought I was going to say no by my reaction. He started to hang his head and I was like what? what? YES, of course I will marry you!”
The Wedding Day
“It’s so hard to pick out one thing as the wedding was so intimate & beautiful. Finally being able to see each other after being separated the whole day of the wedding. I think what got me was the look on his face when I was walking down the aisle and the tears he had in his eyes. He had never seen me in a dress with my hair curled and makeup like that before. Once I reached him and grabbed his hand, I told him how good he looked and he said you look beautiful. Of course he’s told me that a thousand times before, but it was different at that very moment. It was so magical. I felt like a princess. My prince was waiting for me and we could now begin the next chapter of our lives together. It felt like something you would only see in a movie!”
Special Guests
“We had taken a catamaran cruise around the island the day before with the Wadadli Cat guys. After chatting with them we told them we were getting married the next day and of course they said congrats and best wishes. So, the next day while we were getting married on the beach the boat was coming back from a cruise full of people. Apparently they saw us and the wedding in process and slowly snuck into shore. Little did we know, right there behind us they all watched from the boat. It was only when we were pronounced husband and wife that the boat went wild and we knew what was going on. We were so surprised! We felt like movie stars. It was a moment we will never forget!”
Thank you!
“We would like to thank everyone at Sandals who helped us make our dream destination wedding come true. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and accommodating! Starting with Sunny Jo who helped me when I couldn’t get information from my travel agent and for creating the wonderful WeddingMoons Facebook group. Such a great place for current and past brides to share helpful information/advice. Lydia and the wedding staff went above and beyond in making our day magical. The cake and flowers were absolutely stunning and everything was perfect.”
Josh and I requested not to see each other before the wedding and they did a great job at keeping us from running into one another and helping both of us with calming our butterflies. The staff at the Red Lane Spa made me look like a model. I’ve never felt so beautiful in my life as they did an amazing job with my hair and makeup! And last, but not least Kenrick, our photographer. He took some of the most amazing shots that we will treasure forever. Sandals, you and your staff went above and beyond and Josh & I are forever grateful to your for making our WeddingMoon such an amazing experience! Thank you!”
Love, “
Lindsey and Joshua.
