We will cherish the memories of our Sandals wedding forever …

When we first started the Picture of Love campaign, we were really excited by all of the amazing pictures we were tagged in. While it was definitely hard picking our first feature, we were absolutely floored by this stunning shot from past WeddingMoons’ couple, Jill and Jeremy who tied the knot at Sandals Grande Antigua. Little did we know, the story behind their beautiful wedding photos was just as heart-warming as their lovely smiles.

Jill and Jeremy’s WeddingMoon Story

“Shortly after our engagement, in the midst of planning a big white-church wedding, my dad was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gherig’s disease). Due to the rapidly progressive and fatal diagnosis, my family and I were crushed, and my dreams of a beautiful wedding with my dad walking me down the aisle were fading quickly. After many tearful conversations, my husband and I decided it was more important to us to have my dad present at our wedding than to have the date and venue we had originally planned. When we suggested the idea of eloping and inviting only immediate family my dad was thrilled and set right to work selecting the PERFECT place for his little girl’s wedding – Sandals Grande Antigua.

Six months after our engagement, we set off for our big trip and although our trip got off to a rough start, as soon as we arrived at Sandals all our worries and stresses seemed to melt away in the sunshine.

On the second day of our stay in Antigua, my dad took what would end up being some of his last steps to walk me down the beach aisle to say “I do” to the man of my dreams. Although most couples wouldn’t ever dream of taking their Honeymoon with their parents, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. My parents stayed in the cottages on one side of the resort, while we enjoyed a honeymoon suite with the most incredible view. We will cherish the memories of our Sandals wedding forever not just because we began our new life together as a married couple, but because it was some of the last fun, smile and laughter filled, carefree time spent with my dad.

Everything about our Sandals wedding was perfect and I can not say enough how stress free the planning was made by the wonderful staff. My husband and I are about to celebrate our third wedding anniversary and can’t wait for the day when we can visit Sandals again! We recommend your resorts to all of our friends (two of which just visited Sandals in Jamaica for their honeymoon and loved it!) and have been to a few different all-inclusive resorts that don’t hold a candle to what Sandals has to offer.
