9 of Our Favorite Details From The Brides Live Wedding
Prepare for tons of gorgeous wedding inspiration from Katie and Sean’s Brides Live Wedding at Sandals Whitehouse!
Earlier this year, WeddingMoons hosted the much anticipated Brides Live Wedding at Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa, helping to give winning couple Katie and Sean the dream destination wedding of a lifetime. With amazing sponsors like David’s Bridal and Mary Kay, WeddingMoons by Sandals and Beaches Resorts was honored to be apart of making this beautiful day a stunning reality. In honor of their wedding story recently published in the October/November issue of Brides Magazine, we’re taking a look back at our top favorite details from the big day. Don’t skip the tips from WeddingMoons’ blogger Sunny, who was lucky enough to witness this wedding in all it’s splendid summer glory, on how to put all this inspiration to work at your own wedding!
The Centrepieces
Imagine summer delivered to you on a straw platter strictly through florals. A mix of peach, burnt orange and salmon summer blooms made up the planters on each table piece. Add the candles and leaf name tags with names written in delicate gold calligraphy and we were practically falling head over heels in love with these gorgeous tablescapes. Just in case you were wondering, yes- you can definitely steal these floral ideas for your WeddingMoon at Sandals or Beaches resorts; ask your wedding planner how!
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: Instead of a full table of planters, choose to have one planter filled to the brim with local summer-hued florals that are in season. Not only would it be a more affordable option, but it leaves you with room to fill your table with candles and lanterns that really create a soft, romantic glow after sunset.
That Arch
Hands down, the most stunning detail of this entire wedding (apart from the gorgeous bride, of course) was the wedding arch. It was quite a sight to behold that towering bamboo arch covered in evergreen palm leaves and huge white orchids. The arch was anchored with local conch shells to really drive home the beach wedding theme!
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: “I’ll admit, this is a pretty tough arch to follow! Seeing this towering beauty in person, it was hard not to be completely mesmerized and take a ton of selfies underneath it. If a fully floral arch is a bit out of your budget, perhaps focus on one part of the arch to create a dramatic look. Focus on the front of the arch by wrapping palm leaves around the front and adorn the front corners with two bouquets of your florals of choice. Consider adding floral fillers like Baby’s Breath to give your bouquets a fuller look without dipping into too much of your wedding budget.
The Escort Table
What says “tropical wedding” more than baskets full of local flowers and native summer fruits? We love that this escort table was focused on the “island paradise” theme of this wedding.
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: Instead of a basket of flowers, try a basket of local seashells paired with just one type of local fruit to make this look your own. White seashells and green and purple local sea-grapes should look really chic in Spring! Take it up a notch and use large white seashells as your actual escort cards. Also, they would make a pretty cute keepsake!
The Personalised Touches
One thing we’re always on about is how to personalize your wedding day. Katie and Sean definitely nailed that concept with their intimate details including these monogrammed cocktail goodies and fan labels from Haute Papier.
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: Small details make a big statement when it comes to weddings. Look for sneaky little ways to add a monogram, like on cocktail napkins and table numbers, etc. Even better, include your wedding hashtag (if you’ve got one) to remind guests how to tag their Instagram pictures. The point is to really stamp your name all over your big day but in ways that come off really subtle and cute.
The Beach
To say that Katie and Sean picked the perfect wedding spot is a vast understatement. Imagine the perfect beach off the coast of Westmorland, Jamaica with miles of powder white sand, a few select lush, green trees for shade and crystal clear water lapping at the shore. Then imagine getting married there! The aisle was lined with two rows of mixed seashells completing the simple yet breathtaking ceremony décor.
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: The best part about having a destination wedding at Sandals or Beaches Resorts is that beach wedding locations are available to all couples at absolutely no additional charge. You can get married in this exact location, in the exact same spot as Katie and Sean and it’s 100% included! Just tell your on-resort wedding planner at Sandals Whitehouse to point you to Bluefield’s Beach!

The Entertainment
If you have stayed at a Sandals or Beaches Resorts and have had the pleasure of seeing the legendary Jamaican steel drum band The Silver Birds perform, then you know exactly how much Katie and Sean’s guests enjoyed their cocktail hour. If you haven’t, you can see a snippet of their awesomeness here!
Sunny Says “Make It Your Own”: Whether you want the entire Silver Birds troupe or just one passionate drummer, a steel drum always kicks the “island beach wedding” feel up at least 10 notches. You can fit in a steel pan band just about anywhere in your wedding and reception; as a sweet serenade down the aisle or as a little live entertainment for your guests during your cocktail hour. Seriously considering a steel pan band or player at your WeddingMoon? Have a look at our WeddingMoons’ guide for island availability and options.
That Amazing Tree
Having a grand statement centrepiece at your reception venue definitely helps take your décor over the edge and creates a great talking point for guests. Bluefields restaurant at Sandals Whitehouse served as the perfect outdoor venue, mainly because there is a huge, willowy tree in the middle of the floor. A few well placed string lanterns turned this tree into the reception focal point. And when night time fell…
this amazing tree blossomed to life! Talk about a conversation starter.
Sunny Says “Can’t Touch This!”: While fairy and bistro lights can create a similar effect, the lanterns really do make the venue look more whimsical. I say, this is a look worth duplicating the exact way it is here.

The Arch and paper lantern idea is so creative and cool. Thanks for sharing this creativity with us.
