“In those moments we were in our own little world and everything else seemed to fade away…”

On their 6th year anniversary after a romantic and heartfelt proposal that included soft music, rose petals and two gold fortune cookies (a nod to how they met) Shannon and Matthew decided to keep the romance alive by running away to Sandals LaSource Grenada together. They shared a few moments from their care-free and lovely day in this month’s #PictureofLove!

Shannon and Matthew’s WeddingMoon Story

“Matthew and I met at an Asian restaurant we both worked at during college. We hit it off right away and have been inseparable ever since. When we saw that a brand new resort was opening on the gorgeous island of Grenada, it was a no brain-er to choose that location. I can say with 100% certainty that we made the best decision!”

Our favorite part of the wedding was when we were saying our vows. In those moments we were in our own little world and everything else seemed to fade away.

” I [Shannon] was missing my Grandpa, who passed away 4 years ago, the morning of my wedding. While I was busy getting ready, my soon-to-be Husband, Matt, ran around trying to print a photo of my Grandpa and I to frame and put out during the ceremony. With the help of the whole wedding team, he got the photo printed in time and put into a pretty frame. I noticed the photo as we were signing our marriage license. Talk about a tear jerker! It was such a thoughtful and sweet sentiment.

 “…We wanted to have the BEST destination wedding possible and we knew we would get that at Sandals. Matthew and I just wanted to say thank you to Tricia, Khadine, and the whole Sandals La Source Grenada [wedding] team. They made our day so special and we will remember our perfect day for the rest of our lives!”
