Known for it’s opulent, regal style and as home of the first swim-up suites in The Bahamas, Sandals Royal Bahamian opened its door to its first guests yesterday following a brief closure for renovations. We were first in line to take the “Royal Tour” and we couldn’t wait to share all the shiny new updates and familiar spots we’ve come to love.

An Upgraded Royal Village
Right away, the most exciting part of the Royal Tour was the Royal Village. The Alamanda block received a stunning yet relaxed, island-chic makeover. New floors, trendy mood lighting, rain fall shower heads and polished surfaces made just touring these rooms a dream. Still keeping the secluded island hideaway feel, the wooden shutters and patio foliage added a tropical touch.
Our favorite new feature? The new soaking tubs, of course! Have your butler bring you a plate of chocolate dipped fruits, pop open a bottle of champagne and let the honeymoon begin!
Subtle Trendy Updates Everywhere
If you’ve visited Sandals Royal Bahamian before, you’ll have as much fun as we did spotting the new updates. As if it were even possible, Royal Bahamian amped up the luxury with subtle opulent changes everywhere – and we loved every one of them. Hint: Start with the Royal Pool Hall and work your way around to The Cricker’s Pub, Cassanova’s Italian restaurant, The Royal Cafe and The Windsor Tower.
The Same Wedding Locations We’ve Always Loved
We couldn’t help but smile walking along the beach-front pathway to see the beach-front angel gazebo still standing as glamorous and breathtaking as it’s always been. New foliage added around the gardens and of course, the beach, Royal Bahamian is always poised and ready to host the best day of your life. Vow renewal, anyone?
Teams Ready To Pull Out All The Stops
Housekeeping, butler, concierge, even the General Manager, Gary Williams was out and about ready to make your stay wonderful.
Greeted by island drinks, cool towels and honestly, the catchiest Welcome song we’ve ever heard, the team members were just as excited to see us as we were them. From the new butler team to the spa team, smiling faces were everywhere ready to help make dream honeymoons come true.

Fleet of luxury transfer vehicles (we’ll take the Rolls Royce, please), check. Afternoon tea in the piano bar, check. Red Lane Spa with new couple’s treatments, check! Rooms with stunning ocean front views, check. Restaurants offering over 7 different cuisines including Tepanyaki, Italian, French and of course, the incomparable, overwater dinning experience Gordon’s on the Pier, check! We saw it all, sampled it all and loved it all – we’re absolutely sure you will too.
