Fall Wedding Style for Grooms

We like to think of ourselves as the experts on destination wedding trends (we’re pretty sure you agree!) including destination wedding fashion. With the fall season right around the corner we can’t wait another second to announce our fall wedding fashion trends for this season.

Not so fast brides! We’ll get to you in a minute…right now we want to focus on fall destination trends for your man of the hour: the groom!

Fall fashions for destination weddings will always be completely different than regular fall weddings, mainly because it’s still hot and sunny.  For couples who have their heart set on a beach wedding when the leaves are falling at home, we’ve found some styles that will allow you to have both your cake and eat it too! Fall colors with a beach twist… why not?

Autumn Colored Shirts, Tan Colored Suits.

A lovely chocolate, warm burnt orange or spiced ginger hue makes for a handsome autumn groom. Pair those warm shades with an off-white, tan or champagne colored suit and it’s like mixing summer and autumn together in a delicious combination. To keep it beach chic, lose the tie and cuff your jacket sleeves.  Autumn in the Caribbean is still sunny with a breeze light enough to make wearing a jacket outdoors comfortable. We think this look is very garden wedding friendly.

All stripes are created equal in our books so feel free to mix and match your plaid and ginghams and off set with a solid colored vest to keep it beach casual. If nothing else, your wedding photos will be the most chic in all the land! If you’re a daring groom try a full thin stripped or gingham suit with a solid color shirt.

We love a three-piece suit as much as the next blog, however unless you’re planning a formal soiree in a ballroom at your destination, keep it comfortable. Besides, there is nothing more handsome than a comfortable in-style groom. The above look with cuffed pants screams fall/beach modish!

It’s not a new trend but it’s definitely one of our favorites. It’s like having a little fall on top and a lot of summer at the bottom – very trendy for the casual style of a beach wedding! Go bold with deep auburn pants or more relaxed with deep brown pants.

Mix ‘n Match.

We see bridesmaids do it all the time; let’s see the men get a little creative with it! Coordinate a few rich colors and mix those colors among groomsmen ties and shirt to create amazing combinations. For example, have your guy in a royal blue shirt wear a chocolate tie and your guy in a chocolate shirt wear a royal blue tie. Pick your favorite fall colors and go for it!

It’s chocolate… the possibilities are endless.

Fall Destination Wedding Tips:

* It may be autumn but the Caribbean weather doesn’t know that (nor does it care).  Keep your suit materials lightweight. Avoid wool suits if you can; heatstroke is so not this season.

*Know your body type and have your suit tailored accordingly. Are you a double breast man or not? Do pleated pants suit the length of your legs? Will cuffed pants make you look stumpy? These are all questions to cover with your tailor. All eyes may be on your bride-to-be, but as her official escort eyes will drift to you occasionally as well! Your future wife will be forever grateful for your tailored suit when it comes to whipping out those wedding photos.

*Your accessories make your suit come together! If you’re wearing a fedora make sure it matches or nicely offsets the colors you choose. Your tie is as much of a pièce de résistance as your boutonniere. Pay attention to tie patterns, styles and fabrics in matching with your suit. Two words of advice: cuff links! Use them!
