Q: We are so excited; we have just decided to have a Destination Wedding at Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica! We have invited lots of friends and family who have kids and we’re looking for ideas to make it fun and memorable for everyone. What sort of activities are there that they can do on and off the resort?- Stephanie.
A: Hello Stephanie,
Thank you for your question. Heartiest congratulations to you and your fiancé on this beautiful step of marriage. A huge thank you for choosing Beaches to celebrate your once in a lifetime journey. I’m more than sure the entire wedding team will take great care of you.
Now, on to your question; I can sense the thrill and excitement about what will be an amazing planning experience that you are about to embark on. As you requested, I will break down the activities for the various age groups as well as options on and off the resort.
For the resort activities, Beaches has everything under the sun for the tiny tots who will have access to being well cared for and entertained in the Infants Program. The other (older) children will definitely be enthralled by our exclusive Sesame Street program and your “tweens and teens” guests will definitely be enthralled by the dynamic choices of X-Box games in the gaming lounge, land and water sports activities to name just a few things. There are age appropriate, fun-filled, activities for everyone; the activities you will see are perfect for the young and the young at heart. I believe at Beaches, age is a just a number!
There are tons of land and water sports activities that are included at Beaches. Water activities include Canoes / Kayaks, Snorkelling, Windsurfing, Glass Bottom Boat, 11 Water slides, 5 Pools / 2 Whirlpools, Swim-up Pool Bar, Sail Boats/Hobie Cats, Hydro-bike etc. The land activities include Table Tennis, Basketball, Board Games, Outdoor Chess, Billiards, Themed Nights, Weekly Events, 5 Bars, Fitness Center, Day / Night Tennis; I can go on and on.
Above and beyond this, let’s also discuss other options that would be fantastic for your guests to enjoy as pre-wedding celebration experiences; these are excursions that allow you all to experience the island. After all, you choose the beauty of Jamaica for a reason! The Ocho Rios Region of Jamaica, boast some of Jamaica’s best attractions with the greatest variety too. As a group, you all can enjoy a Catamaran Cruise. In fact, you can have this chartered privately – this is the ultimate experience to have all family and friends come and celebrate your union.
If, on the other hand, the gentlemen want to have a daytime “Bachelor Party/ Stag time” they usually wish to have some form of adventure activity. They should definitely find an exhilarating adventure on a Zip Lining Excursion. Not to forget the bridal party, ladies can have their “Bachelorette/ Hen Time” with an extraordinary day of pampering at the Red Lane Spa.
In the midst of you thinking of all the options for your guests, we want you to keep your fun filled wedding at the center of it all. Rest assured that your exciting planning journey will be well taken care of by your pre-travel wedding planner who will work with you to coordinate some of these elements and more. At the end of the day, what you plan for your wedding will be as unique as the love that you both share. Whatever you ultimately decide to do, make sure it’s tons of fun so that when you reflect on your wedding journey, you remember it as the happiest day of your life for so many reasons!
Happy planning, Stephanie!”
